NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held on June 18, 2019 at 6:00 pm in Council Chambers, 136 Spruce Avenue, Sparwood, to hear submissions related to proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan 1165, 2015 and Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981 as described below.
Location: A portion of 440 and 441 Pine Avenue – these are municipally owned lands
Legal Description: A portion of the properties described as “Lot 3 DL 4589 KD Plan 14652 Except Plan NEP66914”, “Lot 2 DL 4589 KD Plan 14652 Except Plan NEP66914”, “Lot 1 DL 4589 KD Plan 14652”, and “Lot 239 DL 4589 KD Plan 6786 Except Part Included in Plans 7003, 7314, 8431, 9018, 9176, 9741, 13771, 14652, 15328, 15724, 17278, 17573 & NEP19214”. “Lot A DL 4589 KD Plan NEP66914”
Purpose: To amend the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw designations of the subject lands to permit an off-leash dog park.
BYLAWS BEING CONSIDERED:
- Official Community Plan 1165, 2015, Amendment Bylaw 1239, 2019: To amend the land use designation for portions of the properties from Multi-Family Residential to Parks and Natural Areas and other portions to Civic & Institutional.
- Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981, Amendment Bylaw 1240, 2019: To amend the zoning designation for portions of the properties from Institutional to Parks and Recreation.
Copies of the draft bylaws and related materials may be inspected below or at the Municipal Office, 136 Spruce Avenue, Sparwood, B.C., during regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. local time, Monday to Friday from Wednesday, May 22 – Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
Written submissions may be sent to the District of Sparwood, Box 520, Sparwood, BC V0B 2G0. Electronic submissions by email should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions sent by email should be confirmed by phone at the number listed below. Submissions must be received by no later than 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 to ensure their availability to Council at the Hearing. All submissions must include your name and street address and are considered public information, pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.All persons who believe that their interest is affected by the proposed bylaw amendments shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative, or by written submission on the matters contained within Official Community Plan 1165, 2015, Amendment Bylaw 1239, 2019 and Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981, Amendment Bylaw 1240, 2019 at the Public Hearing.
