July 6, 2020 - The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is making funding available through its Participant Funding Program to assist the public participation in the federal environmental assessment of the proposed Michel Coal Project, located southeast of Sparwood, British Columbia.
The Agency will consider funding applications received by July 16, 2020.

April 30, 2020 - Due to construction, there will be no power to the pedestrian crossing lights or street light at the bottom of Red Cedar Hill. Please use caution in this area and watch for pedestrians. We will notify the public when the lights are once again operational.
Effective at 10 am Mountain time on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 the prohibition of Category 2 open fires will be amended throughout the District of Sparwood.

Council Facts is a publication by the District of Sparwood which summarizes the key decisions of Council. Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise changed or cancelled by resolution. The public is encouraged to attend regular Council, Committee of the Whole and Council Committee meetings. Copies of agenda packages and minutes are available online at www.Sparwood.ca. Current agendas are available by the preceding Friday afternoon. Video recordings of regular meetings are available on the District’s website at https://sparwood.ca/council-videos within 24 hours of the meeting.
