Effective at 1:00 pm Mountain time on Wednesday, October 9 the prohibition of Category 3 open fires will be amended throughout the District of Sparwood.
Residents are reminded to always use safe burning practices – which include not lighting or burning campfires or other material in windy conditions and always ensuring that there is enough water and tools on hand and easily accessible to contain the fire. Fires must always be fully extinguished, and the ashes cold to the touch before leaving the area for any length of time.
