BYLAWS
Building Amendment Bylaw
Building Amendment Bylaw 1257, 2020 received three readings and adoption. This amendment removes references to building/property numbering which is included in the Community Standards Bylaw and updates a Staff position title change.

Business Licence Amendment Bylaw
Business Licence Amendment Bylaw 1272, 2020 received two readings. This amendment proposes to provide a process and guidelines for the approval of temporary retail and eating spaces to be established on municipal land, including roads, through application to the District for a Licence of Occupation.
If you believe you will be affected by this amendment and wish to share comments with Council prior to their consideration, you may submit your comments in writing to the District of Sparwood, Box 520, Sparwood, BC V0B 2G0 or by email to sparwood@sparwood.ca before 9:00 am on June 20, 2020. This bylaw will be brought forward at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 for consideration of third reading.

Traffic, Parking & Highways Regulation Amendment Bylaw
Traffic, Parking and Highways Regulation Amendment Bylaw 1273, 2020 received two readings. This amendment proposes to introduce a Licence of Occupation exemption for facilities for the use of municipal land, including roads, for the purposes of temporary retail and eating spaces. This bylaw will be brought forward at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 for consideration of third reading.

BUSINESS
2019 Annual Report
Council approved the 2019 Annual Municipal Report. The report includes messages from Mayor Wilks and the Chief Administrative Officer, each department’s responsibilities, a progress report on the 2019 accomplishments, a report on the strategic outcomes the District plans to achieve in 2020 and 2021, and the 2019 financial statements.

Street Art Banner Policy
Council approved a Street Art Banner Policy which guides the design, selection, installation, and maintenance of street art banners to ensure that a clear and consistent process exists for the implementation and continued care of the program.
The Street Banner Program is intended to support and celebrate the development of local artists, sharing stories and preserving heritage through art.
