Mayor David Wilks Presented King Charles III Coronation Medal

On September 6, 2024 Mayor David Wilks, who also serves in the roles of RDEK Director and Kootenay East Regional Hospital District Chair was presented the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his outstanding service to his community and Canada.

Rob Morrison, M.P. Kootenay Columbia described his profound service. “Embodying the noble values of service above self, David Wilks has dedicated his life to protecting and uplifting communities. Carrying on his family’s proud tradition, he instilled those principals in his son, who now serves in the military. After an illustrious career, he transitioned to federal politics as a Member of Parliament, advocating for the needs of his constituents. Today, as Mayor of Sparwood, he continues to lead with unwavering commitment, working tirelessly to create a thriving and inclusive community for all. His journey is a testament to the profound impact one person can make through selfless service.
