Update: The fire behaviour specialist has viewed the Lladnar Creek fire and has determined that the planned aerial ignition for today will be delayed until tomorrow (August 4) in hopes of more favourable conditions.
It is very important that the public stays out of the treed areas where BC Wildfire Services is working both for personal and firefighter safety. Barricades will be placed at various locations such as Sparwood Heights Drive past Fire Hall #2, the top side of Ponderosa Drive, Sycamore and Matevic Road where the gravel starts.
This is not applicable people who reside in these areas, but for onlookers who walk or drive in these locations and block or impeded important access and egress for firefighters. If you should wish to watch fire response, please do so from a safe location well away from Evacuation Alert areas and where fire response work is being done.

We will provide continued updates as we receive them from BC Wildfire Service.
