Committee Member Bio’s
Sheri Taylor
After 35 years, I retired from the District of Sparwood in 2019 as the Community Service Assistant.
I have a strong passion about recreation and the needs for our community. Moving into the future, I would like to see continued growth of Recreation and Leisure activities within Sparwood.
I look forward to working with the other members of the Recreation Facilities Advisory Committee and to make meaningful recommendations to Council for the possible development of a Community Centre.

Karen Sheets
My name is Karen Sheets, yoga and fitness instructor, mom, friend, daughter, community member and advocate.
I grew up in Sparwood and then moved away to pursue schooling and a career as a Sign Language Interpreter. Alongside work, I spent many years on the provincial board of interpreters in Alberta in various roles. Upon moving back to Sparwood to raise my two active boys, I served on the Chamber Board and later received the Community Spirit award.
I believe all of the above experience and my compassion for this community contributes well to the RFAC committee. I am thoroughly enjoying the processes we are learning and implementing. I look forward to continuous momentum and collaboration with my fellow committee members.
