Sparwood Pool Set To Open

Effective Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 6:30 am, the Sparwood Leisure Centre Pool will be open for public use.  Various health and safety procedures are in place and pool users are asked to familiarize themselves with the new protocols prior to arrival.

New pool protocols are:

  • Patrons are requested to create a RecDesk account before their first visit at https://Sparwood.recdesk.com
  • A physical distance of two meters must be maintained while waiting to access the pool. The lobby is limited to 35 people.
  • As the occupancy is restricted to 15 people in each change room at one time (6 for family change rooms), patrons are asked to limit the time spent in the change rooms so that others can utilize this amenity. This can be done by swimmers being prepared and arriving with their swimsuit on. When leaving the pool, swimmers are asked to please rinse, change quickly and complete personal grooming at home. Additional time in change rooms will prevent others from entering / exiting the pool.
  • Patrons will be allowed to enter the pool for the first 30 – 45 minutes of the swim.
  • Patrons will then be able to exit the pool after the 30 to 45-minute entrance period.
  • Patrons are reminded that admission to the pool will not be allowed after the initial entrance period has ended.
  • Lane swimmers will have two lanes and be required to swim in a circle, sharing the two lanes with other swimmers.
  • Aquafit and Gentlefit will be combined for the summer and limited to 15 participants.
  • Public swims will have a maximum of 35 patrons to start.
  • The hot tub will be limited to 8 patrons.
  • The sauna is closed.

As always, safety is paramount and anyone accessing the Sparwood Leisure Centre will be asked to:

  • Please sanitize your hands before entering the facility, there will be hand sanitizer outside the front doors.
  • If you are sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home, get healthy and come another time.
  • Please follow the arrows and physical distancing markings throughout the facility.
  • If there is a line up, please wait your turn and maintain your distance outside of the front doors.

The District of Sparwood Leisure Centre Team thanks you for your patience and understanding as they diligently strive to provide a safe and fun experience during this unprecedented time.

An updated pool schedule is posted online at https://Sparwood.recdesk.com.
