The District of Sparwood is pleased to announce the newest member of the team, Andre LeBlanc, who joins in the role of Engineering Project Manager, starting June 1, 2021. Andre, a registered Engineer in Training, joins the District from the City of Red Deer where he worked in a similar role. His background includes a wide depth of experience in municipal project management and infrastructure as well as capital planning, operations and maintenance.
“My experience as an Engineering Project Manager has enabled me to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, consulting firms, construction contractors, developers, Council, and the public at large. This role has placed me in the position of a liaison or intermediary between many of these groups and has required solid organizational and communication skills that are paramount to the success of the projects under my supervision. I intend to bring these skills to the District of Sparwood to execute projects in an effective manner,” says Andre.
With various projects on the horizon and the impending retirement of the District’s Director of Engineering, Mayor David Wilks is looking forward to the skill set Andre will bring to this role. “We are pleased to have Andre joining the team and are confident his skills and experience will be a solid driver of projects within the community. Having a strong municipal engineering background will allow the District to continue to responsibly manage infrastructure and capital projects through this role,” he says.
Andre is excited to be living in the mountains where he can enjoy his favorite pastimes of skiing and fishing, as well as all that the outdoors has to offer.
