I am honored to have been elected for my third term as Councillor for the District of Sparwood and assure you that I will work hard for our great community.
Myself, my father (John), and my grandfather (John) are all from the valley and as such I am proud to call Sparwood my home. I was born in the Michel Hospital in 1969. After graduating from Sparwood Secondary in 1987, I attended the East Kootenay Community College in Cranbrook where I completed my Business Administration courses with a major in Accounting.
In 1999, I moved back to Sparwood and built the A&W restaurant. After operating the restaurant for 13 years, and being involved with restaurant management for 20 plus years, I sold the A&W in September of 2012.
Currently I am employed with Teck Coal Elkview Operations as a Red Seal Warehouseperson. I look forward to being part of a great team helping to move Sparwood into the future. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
Councillor Baher represents his community as a member of the following committees and boards:
- Youth Advisory Commission
- Active member of the Lions Club and has held the position of President and Secretary many times
- Received “Sparwood Citizen of the Year Award” in 2004
