2021 Volunteer Organization of the Year Award
During the May 3 Regular Meeting of Council, Sparwood Council presented Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers with the 2021 Volunteer Organization of the Year Award.
This award, along with a cheque for $500 is presented annually to a volunteer organization that:
-Demonstrates initiative, leadership and creativity in their service to the community
-Inspires others to engage in volunteer service
-Improves the overall quality of life for residents and the community as a whole
Sparwood Search and Rescue has been providing service to Sparwood and the surrounding area since the late 1970’s. Mayor David Wilks expressed Council’s appreciation for the dedication of SAR volunteers and the invaluable service they provide to the community.
