Manufactured Home Park Redevelopment and Strata Conversion Policy

The policy addresses the displacement of tenants through the rezoning, development variance permit, mobile home permit, and/or strata conversion of existing manufactured home parks. The policy is meant to provide tenants with the opportunity for greater notification and assistance from development applicants than is currently required under provincial mandates

Manufactured Home Park Tenancy Act

The Manufactured Home Park Tenancy Act regulates the terms under which a tenancy can be terminated by the landlord. There are terms related to the notice period, the lag time between notice and having the mobile home moved, and the requirement for the landlord to have development approvals in place.  This policy ensures that the applicant for a rezoning, development variance permit, mobile home permit, and/or strata conversion of existing manufactured home parks that will, or may, result in the displacement of tenants to provide notice to the tenants and formulate a Relocation Assistance Program.
